About Camp Out Inc.

Camp Out Inc. is a family-owned and operated business founded by Jay and Marie Scott in North Plainfield, NJ, on October 1, 1972. What started as a small operation focused on motorhome rentals and sales quickly expanded as Jay and Marie’s vision grew. Over the years, we broadened our offerings to include truck camper inserts, RV's, truck caps, automotive accessories, and more, always with a commitment to quality and service.
As Jay and Marie’s family grew—eventually raising seven children—their aspirations expanded, too. They discovered a hidden gem in Hunterdon County, NJ: Jugtown Mountain Campsites in Asbury. It was here that they saw the perfect opportunity to expand Camp Out Inc. into a multi-faceted business.
In the years that followed, Jay and Marie opened additional locations in North Oxford, MA (1990), Las Vegas, NV (1992), and Miami, FL (1992), each one proudly managed by a member of the Scott family. These expansions reflected not just business growth but a deepening of the family bond that has always been the center of Camp Out Inc.
Today, Camp Out Inc. continues to thrive as a third-generation family business. We remain committed to the values of hard work, integrity, and love that Jay and Marie instilled in us. Every day, we celebrate the strength of our family and our dedication to providing top-notch service and quality products—just as we did in the early days. We’re excited to see what the future holds as we carry on our legacy, while staying true to the “good ol' business” values that made Camp Out Inc. what it is today.
